Minecraft is better with friends.
Cubeon is a free desktop launcher: play offline under any name, and keep mods, skins and versions in one window.
Not your system?
Everything you need to play
A whole launcher, not just a start button: friends, mods, skins and versions live together in one window.
Play with friends
Add friends by their Cubeon name and talk to them in the launcher. You can see who's online and which version they're playing, and message them any time.
Mods & modpacks
Vanilla, Fabric, Quilt, Forge or NeoForge - the loader installs itself for your version, and modpacks get their own profile.
New: import a whole folderSkins everyone sees
Upload your skin once - other Cubeon players see it on any server you join. The shared Cubeon cape comes with it.
Every version, ready
Releases and snapshots download on first launch, each one started with Java arguments tuned for smooth frame times. Measured against two other launchers on the same PC: see the benchmarks.
Make it yours
RAM slider, window size, custom Java and JVM flags - plus a seasonal launcher look you can change or switch off in Settings.
Three steps to your first world
Download it
The Windows installer or the Linux single file - every button shows the size before you click it.
Type a name
Three to sixteen characters. There is no account, no email and no password to come up with.
Add your friends
Type their Cubeon name in the launcher and they show up in your list, with what they're playing. No server to rent, nothing to forward.
No extra software rides along, no toolbars, no trial that expires - and nothing to pay, now or later. The first launch downloads Minecraft itself, so give it a minute or two.
The help page has short answers for the usual bumps: the game not starting, a friend who can't join your server, or a warning from your computer.
FAQ
Short, plain answers. If yours isn't here, email us - a real person reads it.
The basics
Yes. Every feature works without paying and there are no adverts. Playing with your friends will never sit behind a paywall.
No. Pick a name (three to sixteen characters) and play. No email, no password. If you already own the game, just use the name you always use.
Add friends by their Cubeon name and the launcher keeps the conversation, showing who's online and what they're playing. To share an actual world, open Servers, install a server for the version you picked and hand out the free public address it gives you - set a join password and only the people you tell can get in. No server to rent, nothing to change on anyone's computer.
We measured it rather than claiming it. On the same PC, same Minecraft version, Cubeon averaged 206 FPS in game against 152 for FastClient and 119 for SKLauncher - and its worst single second was 102 FPS, where the other two dropped to 37 and 33. The benchmarks page has every number, the charts, and the caveats that weaken the comparison.
Yes. Open Settings, go to Import, and point it at the folder your mods live in. Cubeon lists everything it finds - mods, resource packs, shader packs, modpacks and worlds - and installs what you pick for the version you chose.
Windows 10 or 11, or a modern 64-bit Linux. There is no Mac version yet.
On your computer, in the .cubeon_launcher folder inside your user folder. Your skin and cape are shared so other Cubeon players see them when you play together. Change or remove them whenever you like.
No. Cubeon never asks for an email address, so there is nothing to unsubscribe from.
If something goes wrong
Windows: the installer. Linux: the single file (make it executable, then run it); the package version is for Debian and Ubuntu.
Minecraft needs Java. Cubeon uses a Java it finds on your computer when it's new enough, and offers to download a free one for you when it isn't - so usually there's nothing to install. If a launch still fails, install Java free from adoptium.net and try again.
Normal for small independent apps that aren't signed by a big company. Signing them properly would cost more than 359€ a year, so we don't. On Windows choose Keep, then More info, then Run anyway. We also just run the Windows build through Wine on Linux, so a Mac version isn't a priority right now.
A friend's name only exists once they've opened Cubeon at least once, so ask them to run it first. If someone can't join a server you're running, check the address and password from the Servers section, and make sure you're both on the same Minecraft version and the newest Cubeon.
Email hamza.457.shahbaz@gmail.com with what you were doing. Attaching the small log in the .cubeon_launcher folder makes a fix much faster.
Ready when you are
Download it, type a name, play. Free on Windows and Linux - no account, nothing to pay.
