There is no Mac version to download today. We just run the Windows build through Wine on Linux for now, so a Mac version is not a priority. If that changes, it will appear right here with its own button.

  • Windows: the installer. It looks after itself.
  • Linux: the single file, with one small step before you run it. The package version is for Debian and Ubuntu.

Open it

Double-click what you downloaded. If your computer asks whether you're sure about the file, that's normal for small independent apps that aren't signed - signing them properly would cost more than 359€ a year. Choose More info, then Run anyway.

Type a name

Three to sixteen characters. There is no account, no email and no password to come up with.

Press play

Pick a Minecraft version and go. The very first launch downloads the game, so give it a minute or two.

Nothing hidden in the download

Every button up there tells you how big the file is before you click it. No extra software rides along, no toolbars, no trial that expires - and nothing to pay, now or later.
